We have an 04 Mountain Master and a couple of weeks ago the rear hubcaps (which are held in place with a friction ring) began flying-off while we were driving down the freeway. Fortunately my wife was following in our car and she was not hit by one of these quite heavy chrome caps...but we were also able to recover the units.

Anyway non of the RV Dealers or Tire stores would reinstall the caps as they were unwilling to accept the liability of such a poorly designed method of attachment. I played withe the friction rings but in the end found myself unwilling to live with the liability or risk that I might install something that could ultimately injury or possible kill someone!

Has anyone else faced a similar problem and dilemma with these hub caps?

In the end I solved the problem by finding a stainless steel fabricator who made me a couple of flanges/tabs which I could loop over a couple of lug nuts and properly secure the cap.

We have a 2004 Rexair same chassis and I have replaced the rear hubcap twice. After loosing it the first time I made it a habit to check them before leaving. Still did not help. Maybe I made to many trips on I95.
Agree with the poor design holding it in place.
Any pictures of what your fabricator made?

I'd be happy to send you a picture but I cannot figure out how to attach a photo file to this system? If you can give me some instructions I'll forward you a photo.

Cheers

I've not had the problem with rear caps, my problem is with the front caps. I now use a dab of clear silicone in 4 places and it seems to work. I probably just hexed myself.
