We have a 45' travel supreme select on a K2 Spartan chassis.Ride very nice.especially since the rebuilt two bell crank assembelies and installed 2 new Koni shocks on the front. What a nice ride it is. I would recommend that what ever you buy if it is Spartan to make the trip to the spartan service center and let them check it out and check the ride hieght. I have always owed coaches on Spartan so i have never driven anything else. After having Koni shocks installed i would put them on any coach regaurdless of the chassis manufacturer.

Having just gone from a Freightliner to a Spartan I can say the Spartan ride is so much better. Unfortunately I'm not comparing apples to apples as our 09 Providence (40 ft) did not have a tag like our 2011 42ft Revolution LE but I can only say we are so please with the ride, quietness, and comfort of the Spartan

We originally had a 2004 40' Bus on a Freightliner chassis. Now we have a 42' tag axle Bus on a Spartan. However, I've test driven the Freightliner tag axle chassis as well as 40' Spartan MMGT so I am familiar with the differences. I found that the "ride" was very similar between the FL and Spartan tag axle chassis. However, the Spartan had crisper handling. When it came to the single axle chassis I found that the Spartan rode better and handled better than the FL.

The biggest difference is in the details. Spartan sweats the details while Freightliner does the minimum to get by. I've had minor issues with flimsy accessory brackets breaking, plastic coolant surge tanks leaking, etc with the FL. Not so with the Spartan. In my opinion there's no comparison and I'm sold on Spartan.

Tiffin does make their own chassis now - the Powerglide. It too is on a level with Spartan. However, they still use the Spartan K2 chassis under their top of the line Zephyr.

Just traded a 2009 Phaeton QBH 42' with tag for a 2011 Allegro Bus QGP 43' with tag on a Powerglide chassis. The ride in the Bus is softer in front and less "rattlely" on bridges and bumps, but the Powerglide stays level as a lake--no leaning on turns. overall, a quieter ride. A huge difference is in the cockpit layout--everything in easy reach and the enormous switch matrix of the Phaeton left panel divided up more logically in three locations. Turning radius of the Powerglide seems a bit wider based on looping around a circle I use in my backyard, but not excessive. It's hard to get factual data on that feature, just wheel cut nonsense. Both chassis are well built, but Powerglide is many notches up on comfort, feel, solidity, basement space.

I don't have any prior DP experience, only our gassers, on a leaf spring chassis.

I'm quite pleased so far. Nice ride and handling, light years ahead of our old Ford chassis, and extremely quiet up front, although I suspect that's as much a function of 'house' construction as the chassis, although a stiffer chassis will make that job (making a quiet coach) much easier.

Once Spartan replaced the extremely harsh Bilstein front shocks with softer Koni's, the ride on my '07 DSDP is now great. No complaints.
