Ride Height Adjusters

I have a 2001 Marlin DP on a Spartan Summit GTI. I think the coach is slightly leaning toward the copilot side with full air pressure. Someone said the ride height adjusters may need to be adjusted. Does anyone know how that works and how to make the adjustment? Can this be done safely from under the coach?

I think the front wheels have them just above the IS arms and I don't know about the rear.

Thanks

John

John, yes the ride height can be adjusted, easily. I believe spartan uses 1 valve at the rear and one on each front wheel. My suggestion is to call Spartan and they can give you the recommended ride heights for the rear and for each front corner. There are a dozen threads in these forums (and others) on how to perform the adjustment once you have the correct numbers from Spartan.

Might I also suggest replacing the "whiskers" while you're doing all this - at 12 yrs old, it wouldn't be a bad idea for peace of mind - considering each kit costs less than $30.00. See my thread on replacement of them here: http://www.irv2.com/forums/f25/air-r...age-70924.html

Please, before you crawl under the rig be sure to install properly rated jack stands or blocks under the frame. There typically isn't sufficient space for a person under the coach when the suspension is fully deflated. Safety first !!!!

Thanks sailor_lou.

I had a close call recently while checking for an air leak. I stayed under too long and the bags were slowly deflating. I did not realize it until I noticed I had almost no room to maneuver and I squeezed out just in time. Scared the heck out of me. Later I drove the rig up on several 2x6's that gave me extra room if needed.

Just wasn't thinking about the bags deflating at that time. Much more cautious now.

I can imagine the scare that would give you. Also, they will drop real fast if an air line or the height adjustment valves are inadvertently interrupted, so a little caution up front could save your life.
