I have a 07 American Heritage on a k2 chassis 500hp version and the 2 rear tires on the tag axel,(goodyear 315/80/22.5) are showing signs of rivering on both insides. I have always maintained the correct air pressure (per Sticker in coach),never had axles weighed though. We also have tire monitoring system. Has anybody else had this problem ? only 20,000
miles,Garage stored and well maintained. Local Goodyear shop says rear tag probally needs toe adjusted in. Thinking of getting alignment checked as rf tire shows rivering on outside,lf shows rivering on inside. shop also says that if you tow a trailer in crosswind that it will cause the front tires to river like i have described. We do tow a stacker from Delaware to Florida every winter. Anybody have any input ? Thanks

Welcome to the forum.
I've been dealing with tires for many years, and have never heard the term "rivering" until now. I did a Google search on it, and the only thing I found was a bunch of posts in RV forums discussing it. What exactly is "rivering?"
Telling us what it is may help you get better responses.

How can you state you have maintained proper pressure if you have not weighed you loaded coach? Proper pressure is extremely dependent on the weight being carried. The sidewalk only lists the max permitted pressure at full rated load. Improper pressure for the load causes most premature tire problems. I am not familiar with the term you use so it is hard to tell what is going on. Don't mean to be harsh here just pointing out my experience from owning trucks for many years.

Not familiar with the problems on a tag, but had that problem on our 01 Ambassador with a front straight axle, Goodyear says it is a problem of leaving them on the solid steer axle to long, but they do not acknowledge it as a defect. I ran them for about 20,000 miles then moved them to one side of the rear duals as they were the same height. Those that I moved to the front started rivering again in about 10,000 miles. Alignment was checked twice so that was not an issue. I figured that if I went through 3 rotations, the tires would age out anyway. Rivering is the creation of high and low ridges in the tread surface as you go across the tread. It is not the same appearance as balancing or alignment wear on the fronts. I would think that it would not be a problem on a tag as they are independent of each other aren't they.
Hope this might help Happy Trails Bert

I was at Spartan this summer and had all new tires and an alignment done. There was just a small adjustment made to the front and that was it. We have a 45' travel supreme select with the K2 chassis. Also have 70,000 miles on the coach.I will also comment on getting an all we wieght in they readjusted all my preassures to accomidate our loading. Was a very good visit and made a huge diffrence. That and the new Konis i had installed on the front.
Thanks
Rick

The cupping that you are describing can be and usually is an improper pressure problem. Just my experience
