I've noticed various people talking about adding Safe T Plus to their DS DP. What would that do, on the Mountain Master chassis, with IFS? Would it make a significant difference?

The largest of the Safe-T-Plus devices, blue cylinder, like I have and that you would need on a Spartan are also often used on over the road busses. The device works to remove bump steer and provides an additional margin of safety in the event of a blowout. Whether or not the STP will help your particular situation on your Spartan should be coordinated with Safe-T-Plus themselves. there is an application chart on the website where they have listed all the applications they support. Click on the Chassis Guide tab.

Thanks.

I went and looked at the website, and it looks as if they don't have anything for the Mountain Master Chassis after 2005. So it's probably a moot point.

After just being through the front end steering stablizer exercise, I offer an opinion. The only steering stabilzer I know of, available to IFS front end chassis is the Howard Precision Steering System. The only place to get one installed (for IFS) is Iron Horse RV in San Antinio, Texas. I made the pligramage, to San Antonio and had one installed. The installation process is what makes me think the following is the reason the big guys do not do IFS front ends.

Almost every installation is a custom build. Howard has installed over 8K of these stablizers and they have close to 1K of templates for brackets! Yikes, that is amazing. The big boys make their $s from economies of scale. IFS seems to require a custom build shop.

FYI, Iron Horse is very competent to install the Howard System. It solved all my steering complaints. I highly recommend Howard and Iron Horse.

On the + side. San Antonio is a nice place to visit and can keep an out of towner busy for a week with tourist stuff. You can stay in your rig, at Iron Horse, during the installation. If Howard has never done your year/make and model that is about how long it will take to complete the installation. If they have the templates from a previous customer it could be done in a couple of days.
