I just was reading your post about shock replacement. I have a 2005 Dutchstar 4023...the ride seems to be getting worse, when I purchased this winter 07, AND I'll never buy another mh in the dark, rain, at night again. When I was in Las Vegas in Feb., someone there told me that the shocks probably need to get replaced, because he had a 2005 and had a rough ride and spartan replaced them. I had 8500 miles on it when purchased and now 14000.Does anyone know who to get in touch with concerning the shock problem. Thanks DC

Hi Lastplace,
Welcome to iRV2. In this forum, three threads down from this one is a thread titled "Ever wonder how to contact Spartan Chassis?" The contact number is in the first post. Ask for Chris McCord. Chris is available Monday through Friday during normal business hours.

Thanks for the information, I will get on it....having trouble learning how to get information on this site, and reply, was on a laptop and broke the "L" out of it, so now on the desktop till I get the key pad fixed. This one has Michelin X 275/70 R22.5 fronts. Also having trouble with the stop engine light. 3 seperate trips, the light came on multiple times each trip, always make it home, now cummins say a crimped wire to the ax fan, causing a faulty signal to computer??? does this sound reasonable...starting not to trust this machine...the old 300hp cummins I took everywhere and back and not a peep outta her.

When it comes to the coaches we travel in, just about anything is possible. Why did Cummins say it is a bad wire?

I didn't ask the cause of the wire problem...but it related to the sensor on the intake manifold reading a higher temp I guess. Anyway that must of been in their book of excuses in the fault codes. I guess a road trip will seperate truth from fiction. I'm kinda at their mercy here.

Lastplace,
Dutchstars have had some difficulty with a harsh ride. There are several threads on this topic. You may be close to your GAWR and the tires are inflated to their maximum. Larger tires (if they fit) seemed to have helped. Search on "harsh ride spartan". You see several threads to read about this problem.

On the manifold sensor, this may be serious. Do you have an ISL engine? If so, the ISLs had a recall to add a sensor to the manifold to detect a bad wrist pin problem. I do not know if this applies to your engine or not. If you have an ISL, it is something to get checked out ASAP. If a wrist pin fails, it is a catastrophic engine failure. Do a search on "wrist pin" and you will be able to read all about it.
