Smart Steering Wheel
2018 Newmar DSDP
Who provides the warranty on Smart Steering Wheels? Does Spartan as the chassis maker, or in this case, Newmar as the house builder? My “resume+” cruise control button is non-op.

It will be covered by Spartan, but a call to Newmar could speed up the repair process for you. They will, since under warranty make the arrangements depending on your location to get it fixed for you and tell you where to take it. Never hurts to get Newmar involved as you bought it from them.

Might try pulling power plugs on the smart wheel controller , and plugging back in. This resets the firmware on the controller . When my "smart" wheel goes dumb , this fixes it every time. Happens a couple times a year for us on our 2007 Spartan K2 , usually manifests itself with inoperative windshield wipers.

Thanks to both of you!
Where might the power connector be located?

Mine is located in the forward fuse panel cabinet under the drivers window. On the smart wheel decoder module. I unplug the two black connectors on lower right . This removes all power to the module. Wait a few seconds , and plug them back in , it's worth a try .

Last summer the HDT repair shop that works on my MH had a late model Monaco in for smart wheel non-functioning. They found the problem in the thru-the-firewall transition plug, all the pins were severely corroded(green).
They cleaned off the corrosion and every function on the smart wheel worked again.

If you haven't gotten it fixed yet, you might try pulling the brake pedal up with your toe. There is a switch on the brake pedal that shuts the cruise off, sometimes it can be a little touchy.

Good idea, Royallithorp! I remember having the brake lights remain on after release when the coach was new. I’ll check it out.

My resume button is on the finicky side. I have to press it just in the right spot for it to work.
