When I greased the chassis,on my 2004 DSDP, I noticed that the forward most grease fitting's rubber boot, on the driver's side, was cracking. I think it is called the steering link.
Two years ago Spartan changed out my ball joints, under warranty, because the sealed grease boots on them had cracked all up.
I called Spartan to see if this was covered under any secret warranty.
They said I needed to contact the people that made the steering. I can't remember their name. They said Spartan should have access to replacement rubber boots, so I wouldn't have to buy the full link, which would probably mean I would have to get a front end alignment.
Before I try Spartan again, does anyone know where to get a replacement boot.
Thanks for any help.
Tom

I have a 04 Dutch Star 4011. Would like to know if you ever got or found an answer to your question? I had to have my ball joints replace this past Fall with 58K miles. Had them replaced at Spartan's factory in Mich., returning from Alaska. Know there is a problem here.
Thanks,
Dale

No,I never got an answer to my question. The boot that I need to replace is the most forward, on the driver's side, that connects just below the steering box.
It is a fitting that can be greased, unlike the sealed ball joints.
I talked to the Spartan rep in Dec., at Lazy Days. He said that the fitting that I would need replaced comes in either a left or right hand thread.
The fitting would have to be removed to determine if it was left or right to see which one needed to be ordered. I was hoping he could have given me a part number, so an alignment shop that works on RV's, in my area, could order it in.
I'm not too excited about leaving my MH in a shop until they determine what thread pattern is required before they can order the right fitting in.
