Spartan Air Suspension Problem

Hi All,

I have a 1996 American Tradition on full air suspension. Used it last weekend and all was ok. Went to use it this weekend, raised the jacks and the suspension will not fill with air?

Checked the float valve in the jack reservoir by disconnecting the wires and still the same. So joined the wires together and still the same?

Im in the UK and with this sort of problem with your RV, you are kind of on your own.

Does anyone have any ideas please?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks

What does your dash air gauges say? is the compressor building air? If so, look near front (ifs ? ) and rear axles and there should be air valves hooked to the axles with small rods that controls the air to your bags.

Hi and thanks for the reply.

The dash air gauges are upto pressure.

I have been under the coach and removed some air pipes and can conclude that the suspension air dump valve is not closing and the suspension will not raise. If you disconnect the air supply to the operating valves, then the bags will raise, but reconnect and the bags deflate.

Because the dump valve is not closing, thats why I checked the float switch on the jack reservoir?

I guess it will be something simple as most RV problems are, but only simple when you know the answer

On my rig the air bags dump when I deploy the auto-levelers and will not reset until I hit the retract switch. I had a similar situation once and simply releveled and then auto retracted and everything was fine. This only happened once so I never really performed any troubleshooting. I'm guessing some glitch in the leveler "brain" didn't recognize the levelers were retracted so it didn't reset the air air bag dump circuitry. You may have another issue, but this is an easy thing to try. Good luck.

Try moving forward a few feet and see if the bags inflate.

Thankyou everyone who posted for your help.

I have now solved the problem and the dump valve is not getting a power feed from the jacks.

I have installed a new fused supply as a temporary measure and need to investigate the jack feed further.
