Just a note to tell everyone the techs are at Outdoor Resorts in Port St. Lucie, working on my coach RIGHT NOW! Said they came here to do 3 units and are going to end up doing about 16. If anyone else here needs this done, better let them know.

That's for the K2 Chassis not the Mountain master, correct?

Yup! K-2 only. They reversed the fan direction, installed the clutch in a slightly higher position and added a new gearbox and driveshaft with an additional u-joint. Looks like a real improvement. Kudos to Spartan for aggessively moving to retrofit all K-2's under Newmar, Eagle and Travel Supreme coaches.

Slabman,
Are they still using that "slap-plate" or are they installing the idler pulley that my '09 has?

I had the original upgrade done on my K2 - and just had one of the roving teams do the latest one here in North Texas (along with the tow bar upgrade and new tag bearings) - they have four teams roaming the country doing the work apparently. The two gents who did mine were real pros.

Racer, they just left that "slap plate" on mine, since it doesn't hurt or impact the belt. The old roller idea, I believe, would be a rather crude, early attempt to solve the "slap" problem, but doesn't sound so good for the belt....The new clutch position is a couple inches higher, increasing the belt angle. The new fan is the same pitch/diameter, but runs in the opposite direction. You also get a new belt in the process...likely the same size as you have now.

One thing I did hear was that the fan should kick in at 207 degrees and "stay that way under load". Under that you're running on natural air flow for cooling.
