This is a repost. The original title did not draw a reply!
What is the typical electrical load of the Spartan MM Dash blower. On three different trips, the coach engine had shut down (everything turned off). I finally figured out what caused the shut down. The dash HVAC blower every now and then will load the electrical system down to 8-10 VDC which will cause the fuel control relay to open and shut the engine down. The engine will start back up with no problems noted. All of this is very illogical. The blower puts out enough air, it does not make any loud noise, it just every now and then draws excessive amounts of current. You can vary the speed back and forth with no apparent effect. The scary thing about this that on one trip we where coming down a mount road and it was raining, I was pulling a toad and the thing shut down. It kind of shook me up! Anyway has anyone has a simular problem?

Bad voltage regulator?

Fortunately, I haven't had this problem. I hope you get it solved soon. Have you tried calling Spartan? They can help diagnose it over the phone.

I plan to contact Spartan tomorrow. I purchased the MH used last year and have been having this problem off and on since purchase. I just recently put 2 & 2 together and found the root cause by accident. It is a very weird problem because it is not a hard failure. Sometimes I can turn on the blower and the only thing I notice is that the voltmeter drops to 13 vdc and then out of no where the voltmeter starts fluctuating between 13 & 08 vdc. When it hits 08 vdc, the coach goes dark, everything shuts down. Maybe I have a over sensitive fuel shut off contactor???

For anyone interested, the problem turned out to be one of the ST80 accessory relays/high amperage contactors. Absolutely illogical!

Thank you for getting back. It must have been shorting to ground? No explanation provided?
