So There apparently was a recall some time ago on My Spartan Chassis which involved changing the Tire size. Apparently the odometer should have been adjusted to compensate for the Larger Tires. It wasn't done so now I'm wondering how difficult it will be to get the thing adjusted?
Oh yes It's a 1998 Newmar Dutchstar!

I have a VDO electronic stand alone speedometer that I had to program. It was very simple, but you need to know where there is a measured mile or mark one yourself.
VDO website has info on how to do this, otherwise e-mail me and I will try to find the info.

Hi Rob,
I found two procedures for you. If your gauge is VDO, you will read that on the faceplate. This is for the electronic/digital gauge that receives electronic pulses vs. a mechanical cable that comes from the transmission. Hope this works for you.
Mike
Procedure 1. To program the new speedometer, you must find a road that has measured mile markings. Once this is done you simply hold down the button on the front of the unit, select the calibration mode, and drive to the beginning of your measured mile and press it again. Once you have completed your one-mile drive, press the button again, stop the vehicle and let the speedometer calibrate itself. The digital display will flash a series of numbers, and then it will set itself to zero and the speedometer will self-test. That's it! You now have a completely accurate speedometer, and should you choose to change gear ratios, or tire sizes later, simply go back to your mile and calibrate it again. It's that simple.
Procedure 2• Go to the start of the measuring track. Re-start the engine near the beginning of the track and
whilst selecting AUtOCL mode.
• After selecting AUtOCL the display changes to bUttOn after 3 seconds.
• Exactly at the beginning of the measuring distance press the button shortly and the display will
flash “StArt”.
• Drive the test track with as constant a speed as possible.
NOTE - NO SPEED IS INDICATED DURING THE MEASURING DRIVE.
• Exactly at the end of the measuring track press the button shortly.
• The determined pulse/distance ratio is displayed - (between 500 and 399990).
e.g. P 50000 meaning 50000 pulses per measured distance
• The calibration is complete if the display then changes to the total distance or trip mileage
display.
• Proceed to 3. AdJUSt if speed indicated is incorrect and requires adjustment.
If F00 is displayed (meaning no pulses) repeat the above procedure.

I have the cummins engine and they can flash the eprom and it tells it how many times the tire rotates in a mile. I think mine is set at 321 .

I'm afraid that Mine is an Analog Style Speedo/Odometer so will be a little more difficult to upgrade. I can live with it the way it is ,just have to watch My speed in School Zones etc.
