Steering Bracket Recall

Just a quick post to determine if anyone has been contacted by Spartan concerning the new recall on the steering bracket. Cracks in the bracket can result in lost of control. What is reported: Spartan chassis manufactured starting in 2005 may have this problem. I have a 2003 Dutchstar and was checking to see if anyone has a model with the Spartan chassis with any steering issues? I plan to have my rig check just to be safe since I am not the original owner.

I called Spartan to see if mine was under the recall. I have a 2005 MM chassis rolled out of the factory May 05. They stated mine was not under the recall. That was good news.

My Spartan is going in tomorrow for replacement of the bracket. I haven't had any issues but the bracket is going to be replaced in my 2009.

Just left Camp Spartan with a fixed steering bracket that was cracked. Seems like everyone there had one from the years of 2000 to 2009.

Hmm, wonder about ours since Newmar had Spartan replace our OEM 12,000# front axle with a 14,600# unit in 2004. Guess I better call them and see if it could affect ours.

After seeing this thread, I called about our 2000 Dutch Star. After asking for the last 8 of my VIN, they said I was good to go.

Just left Spartan in Charlotte MI after having some work done. While there they performed the necessary work to replace the steering gear bracket that was on recall. We have an 09 AC Allegiance 40x with the mountain master chassis. Just an FYI.

THe OP says recall covers Chassis after 2005. If Earlier chassis being checked (as in posts) is the 2005 date wrong ? Thanks
