I have a 2003 Winnebago Ultimate built in October of 2002 on a Sparton mountain master chassis with a 350 Cummins. To the left of the steering column, on the floor, behind a panel is a set of three switches.

THe right most switch puts the ABS in test mode to display any ABS faults. The middle switch adjusts the engine idle speed.

I can not get at the left most switch to read the label without removing a panel. The removal means removing the glued carpet to find the hidden screws. I'm curious what this left most switch is for and hoping somebody has the answer so I wont have to remove the carpet and the panel. Any ideas?

roadking.. first of all- Congrats!
Have you tried to take a digital photo and then look at it closely after you upload it to your computer?

Good Luck and let us know if you figure it out.

I did some close looking with a flashlight for the "switches" I didn't know are there. I can barely see a label that says "ABS" but can't tell that it is a switch. The kick panel is not terribly secure on mine ... can be moved a bit. Mine seems to be secured mostly to the sidewall. I can feel screws along the rear vertical edge of the carpeted piece.

While you're at it, what is the electronics box held to the firewall with a velcro strap directly behind the steering column? I could probably tell if I pulled the strap off as it looks like it has a label, but it isn't easy to get under there!!

I imagine Winnebago could tell you pretty quickly what they are and how to get to them if you call Owner Relations at (800) 537-1885. You'll need to give them your coach s/n. They have been very helpful to me in the past when I had questions/problems.

I a have box exactlly as you describe and is it labeled HWH. I assumed it was the HWH leveler brain box (the controller??).

In regards to the switches I guess I'm going to have to crawl down there again and see if I can remove the panel. The switches are rocker type switches. If the ignition is on and you press the abs switch the ABS computer will begin counting out the two digit configuration codes followed by the error codes, if you have any. My ABS is an Meritor-Wabco and the manuals can be downloaded and they explain the sequence and error condition for each code. I had a bad ABS wheel sensor and the manual was most excellent in assistining in diagnostics. Anyway, if I discover the purpose of the third switch I'll let you know.
