Because of information on this forum, my '07 Newmar Kountry Star is currently at Lazy Days waiting for new ball joints to be installed under warrenty (bad boots). You folks have saved me about $2500.....Thanks. Spartan has a 3 year warrenty, and we purchased our Kountry Star Mar 25, '09.....made it just under the (warrenty) wire.

Isn't this a great place?! Glad to hear that you're getting the ball joints repaired under warranty.

Good for you that it's being covered. Not everyone is that lucky.

I agree, your's is one of the few that a warranty has covered.

Our rig is a 2002, the front axle is a 2004, 14,600# unit. So far we haven't had any boot problems and they still look good. Had the rig to Brazils two weeks ago for a front end alignment. They didn't find any problems and the tech told me that whoever was doing my lube jobs was doing a good job. Since I do my own work it's always nice to hear that I'm doing good work!!

It seems like it's the 12,000# axles that have most of the problems.

I often wonder if things such as the front end has issues because service people don't do the job, or more apt don't know every grease fitting to service. Boot adjustments also may be required if they become skewd due to a binding cause.
Actually because of this possible non-familiar mechanic syndrome, I have always returned to Spartan factory for all service requirements, even oil changes.
It has worked for me, just by 70,000 miles and running great.

I carry the factory service into the end which, of course includes all non-chassis service is only been done by Newmar factory. I have had little issues and therefore continue doing the same.
