I wanted to install a M/C lift on the back of my 97 Windsor 38' no silde M/H. So I decided I better weigh it before I have it installed. I went to the scales and was disapponited to find I was only 1400# below max weight. I did fill the fuel, water and propane before I went. My weight are as follows:
The weights below are with me inside but without groceries, pop, drinking water, cloths, wife, pets, ect. It does include tool box and misc camp accessories in the basement

Frt axle actual weight 8700# with a max of 9500# per Monaco GVWR plate
Rear axle actual weight 17860# with a max of 18500# per Monaco GVWR plate
Total actual weight 26560# with a max of 28000# per Monaco GVWR plate

I wanted to install a Cruiser lift that weights about 300# and a Harley Ultra Classic that weights about 900#
The Cruiser lift website shows how to add for the overhang on the rear axle and using that formula it would add about 2050# to the rear axle. It would be overloaded about 1300#
My question, is there any wiggle room on the max 18500# rear axle to cover approx 1300# overload plus maybe 3-400# for all the other things that will go in when loaded for trips?
I posted on the Monaco site and only got 1 response Thanks

We have a 2000 Beaver Patriot and right up to the moment of truth, when we hit the road, I was told a lift could be installed. The welder crawled under and when he came out he stated he would not do it. Frame and weight are important and I am surprised no one has commented. I'd have a long talk with Cruiser Lift and some experienced RV Repair people you know and trust. There are other alternatives from trailers to towing a pickup with bike in bed. Connecting with Monaco might also be a wise move. Good luck with your search.

I am sorry to hear that. Will it not work with your rig? What are you going to do?

i researched the hydralift like the ones you see on ebay, they go for about 1000 dollars on ebay.they cannot be installed on travel trailers and most fivers, but it said that it is a good device for most motor homes.the main concern with these lifts is the rvs frame rails, seems most of them dont have a strong enough frame,as in too lightweight, not that theyre bad, just designed to be lite for overall weight, the ones i read about fit into a class 4 or5 receiver hitch and it said most of these have to beefed up to handle the bouncing,i too have a harley and woundnt want to lose my scooter over a unresolved option.as far as weight 500 to 1000 lbs is not going to be a big deal overall for a monaco mh,ive been in trucking 35 years and stay overloaded most of the time,i think the issue is whether it would be solid enough to feel secure and not worry about your bike,i changed my search to a tandem trailer of about 14 ft long with 3500 lb axles, that way you could mount a toolbox, portable air compressor and other such components that would be usefull, hope this helps
