Thanks to all that have posted so far. I must admit that my bike does not have stock exhaust, but has V&H true duals with the old style heavy screaming eagle mufflers that are fully baffled. I leave for work around 5am and don't want to upset the neighbors. They tell me their tractors are louder, so I'm good with that.

I am thinking that all loud V-twins are falling into the category of Harleys. We won't change that.

When I started this thread I really only wanted to find out where the biker friendly RV parks and campgrounds are. Anyone on two wheels is good in my book. If my wife and my health makes us trailer trash using a MH and trailer, I'm OK with that too. We're still camping and riding.

Maybe a listed biker friendly campground guide? How cool would that be?
Maybe It's already out there.

Lets not make this a thread of the places that don't like bikers, but maybe a thread of good experiences. We have all winter to make next year even better.

P.S. The MH looks so sad in it's snow blanket. Come on spring.

Remember, We can't change the past. We will always influence the future.

For the most part most RV parks allow motorcyclists. I'm not aware of any that really specialize in it. I do know of some near the Smokies who specialize in campers that ride motorcycles but they do not allow RV's basically because they have no provisions for them. If you really would like to camp with motorcyclists I would suggest one of the organizations that I suggested earlier most camp at these rallies , if not just call ahead and ask at an RV park.

I haven't been turned away from any campgrounds or RV parks with my 2007 BMW K1200GT. I'm sure it will happen sometime, though.

Having said that, although not an RV park, HERE is a spot in the Texas Hill Country that caters exclusively to motorcyclists and bicyclists. Just something from the other extreme.

We've called campgrounds to reserve sites that specifically stated "no motorcycles allowed". Once we explained that we ride a BMW that's as quiet as a sewing machine immediately they respond "that rule was for the Harleys".

I built three of them when I was younger and they all had the beautiful ear splitting "kerpop kerpop" sound. No way would they have let me in.

I tow my FLT on a trailer, it's my toad. It's quieter than some diesel RVs.

I found a RV Park on Oregon's coast that had an issue with motorcycles and off road vehicles. I told them I had a Harley and used it as my toad. They told me the rule was for the loud dirt bike crowd that liked the nearby dunes and that the Harley was okay with them.

As of yet I haven't been refused service at any RV park because of the bike. The trailer is usually the issue, if there is not much space. Some parks want the trailer parked in a different location. I ask and if there is an issue, I look for another park.

Hi Ive been at this KOA in Mims Fl since last oct 09 and they allow motorcycles here. all the riders have been polite show concern for others by keeping the noise and speed down.my neighbor to my left has one ,very seldom do you hear him. they have good rules here on taking care of your dogs (we have 4 little ones) speed and the like. we plan on being here for at least the rest of this year, come on down. Greg.

We have a '98 FLHT with a Thunderheader and it CAN be loud if I want to. To me there is no better engine sound than a big V-Twin. We have not been turned away from a campgroumd yet. Maybe we have just not run across any with those restrictions. The KOA in Tellico Plains, TN welcomes bikes.

I havent been turned away yet, but it will happen someday. The park we stay at for a "getaway" during the winter has no issues with bikes. There is a bunch of snowbirds that winter there every winter with Harleys. There not quiet, but there not loud either.
There are a bunch of bikes around my house and as I get older I find that I like the quiet potato-potato of the EGC and can hear my radio even at WOT. I will have to admit that I am also guilty of overly loud exhaust on previously owned bikes. When your young you do ALOT of stupid things though. Its a horrible thing for god to put an 18 year old in a 50 year old body! LOL

I have stayed in campgrounds since the early 80's with my bikes, two wheel, sidecar, trike and since 2001 with a Screamin Eagle muffler Harley.

Never been denied a campsite in any Campground of the lower 48. I did have one in "87" require me to push the bike in and out.
But they gave me a site within 100' from Entrance/Exit.

I wonder how the people behind the check-in desk would deal with this RV:

There are two things that may bother you, one depends on the bike

I was in a campground a while back where one of my "neighbors" came up the hill on his bike.. I could hear the TRANSMISSION on that bike over the engine it ran that quiet (That's one nice bike) Now him.. I don't mind. he comes up the hill quieter than cars and way quieter than a pick up truck

On the other hand I"ve been passed on the freeway by 2-cycle rie burners with no baffels in the muffler (OUCH! My tender ears)

That's the one that depends on the bike.. A nice Harley or a nice Gold Eagle.. I don't mind and actually like.. they make good neighbors.

Now some parks have a "No motorcycles" rule... I've seen some very nice bikes kicked out because of it. I don't camp there any more (And I don't have a motorcycle.. Just an 18 speed human power special)
