Anybody heading to Florida for Bike Week? Where are you staying? We are leaving Michigan on Friday morning. Should be there Saturday afternoon. We will be doing the dry camping thing at Crazy Horse campground.

Been going the past 10 years. We always stayed at either Beverly Beach Camptown or Bulow Plantation. Usually load up my buddies and 6 cruisers on a trailer behind the RV and head out. This year, we actually rented a home in Ormond Beach. After all is told, it is cheaper than the exorbinant rates the local campgrounds charge, if you can get a site. So, come Thursday, we hook the trailer up to a Ram 3500 and head South. Can't wait after the Winter we had. Have a safe trip and a great ride in Daytona.

We decided to spend our Christmas and New Years here at the International RV Park on the ISB just west of the DIS. We have been here ever since and things are starting to heat up here (both the weather and the sights on the beach) VBG. I sold off the gold wing many moons ago but still get the urge now and then. During race week, fields around the area just morphed into RV parks. We are interested in seeing what happens during race week.

Bob

Ps the ISB is International Speedway Blvd and DIS is the Daytona International Speedway for those not familiar with the area.

Isn't Crazy Horse where they have been having brush fires?? They had 95 closed a couple days ago down there. I would check first before making the trip.

Not to worry, we have had ZERO impact here in Daytona from the fire. It is south of DB closer to Mims. You might not want to cruise down US-1 anytime soon. But it should be under control before long. Winds have been out of the North and East, very, very good for bike week, not so hot for the Orlando area (smoke only, no fire danger in Orlando).

Again, it is a zero impact in the DB area.

An Orlando TV station put it at about 500,000 and as being down from the peak a couple of years ago. It is still pretty busy though, I know that this park is full, International RV Park, and people are out back where there are no hookups as well. Still no smoke anywhere near DB.
