I've been out of touch with IRV2 for a while and was pleasantly surprised to find this new addition when I was surfing the other day. I got back into riding after a thirty year hiatus when I retired in 2001. At that time I had a 26 foot Coachman TT and was in the process of building a '46 Chevy COE to pull it with. The truck was going to be used to haul our street rods and pull the trailer to shows etc. Then I got the idea of hauling the bike on it and we never did use it for hauling a car. Well after a few years someone made me an offer I couldn't refuse for the Coachman and we ended up buying a Winnebago MH. Having been bitten by the riding bug again and not willing to give that up I decided to get an enclosed trailer for the bike. Now we are thinking of going to a longer trailer and buying a Smart car so we can haul the bike and a car too. I think I can keep within my weight limitations by going to a 18' all aluminium trailer with a V nose.

I like the idea of the smart car or mini cooper, but the Sweetie say no way. We had a pretty serious auto accident a few yrs back and she has bad memories, and a few scars from the surgery involved. I pull the enclosed garage, a place to keep the bike and garage stuff, behind the motorhome and the Sweetie drives the auto. It is a contiental cargo 12 ft tantum with brakes on both axles all alum. Light, easy pull, and is secure for the bike and stuff. We are looking at the ford flex for the next auto.

We tow our pickup with the bike in the bed. We got a loader to make it easier to get the bike in and out.

I have decided to go with a tandem tow dolly. I will be able to pull my bike and car behind my c and not worry about the weight.
