Nice Job on the 1972 Harley Sportster, the good old day. Sold my 1976 shovel in 1998, went for a 1998 Fat Boy. Still like the old ones better. Rode to Sturgis this year, had a great time.

Riding to Sturgis, awesome. I have always said that I want to ride to Sturgis at least 1 time before I die. Long ride from Nashville, TN though but I would love it. Have gone to Daytona bike week 3 times & absolutely love it, especially the Iron Horse saloon & the hugh Harley shop, Destination Daytona. Several of us here at work go to Panama City Thunder Beach rally every May. Smaller rally but a hell of a lot of fun.

Nice job on the Sportster!
Here is my Softail
Bought it brand new in '87. Made a "few" changes. Motor went back to the factory to be remanufactured last spring.
DW's '96 Dyna Wide Glide is in background.

Sure would like a Harley. Just checked the price on a 2011 FLHTK Electra Glide® Ultra Limited. In Denmark this would cost me exactly $100.000 .
That's why I don't get one ( or so I am told by the DW). All we can afford in Denmark are "cheap" Japanese bikes. I personally ride the Suzuki SV650 with rides like a "pocket rocket". "Old men" like me should ride Harley's - not "pocket rockets".
Feel free to feel sorry for me any time you like
Nice bikes guy's.

That SV650 is an excellent ride. HD is beautiful but I suspect your SV is an ideal ride for Denmark. I rode an SV in Belgium and a Beemer in UK and could not have been happier. As far as Old Men should ride HD's, I am just happy to see Old Men get out there on anything! Personally I ride a ZX10R with raised handlebars. It works as my touring bike as well as sportbike. I do believe it is all in our minds just how old we are.

I ride a 2007 BMW K1200GT - a nice, slow 152 BHP touring bike suitable for old men.
I can coexist with Harley riders, however - see below. These are 2 of our bikes during a day ride at the iRV2 National Rally in Perrin, TX. At my age, I'm just glad I can still get out on 2 wheels.

Nice pic. Have ridden Beemers since 1978, MOA# 13006. My last Beemer was a 2007 K1200R and wish I had it back! I like the ZX10R just fine and got it for its light weight, high horsepower and easy loading into the Dodge Dakota's bed. Now that we are more stationary I have been thinking about BMW's again. That said the GS 800 has caught my eye. Light, more dual sport than the 12, and an absolute hoot in the back roads.
Then again a Dresser.....

I'm a late convert. My first BMW was a 2003 K12GT - BMWMOA #120519. Until then, I had ridden Hondas - my first bike was a 1962 CB305 Super Hawk. I still have my 1971 CB750K1 in the garage.
The 800s are nice bikes. I looked at an F800S and F800ST as possible candidates for my wife, but even with the low seat package, they were too tall for her. Truth be told, I would have wound up riding it more than her as they are neat bikes for the tight twisties.

That is awesome that you still have the 750. Definitely a ground breaking bike! I have been through motorcycles like a drunken sailor at a loose woman convention. The military lifestyle made it difficult for me to keep bikes although I did keep an Ambassador 750cc Guzzi 25 years. I had a gaggle of Duc's and Buells when I had a garage. Even nurtured a few Nortons and Triumphs back to health.

The 2002 Fatboy sold when I bought the MH. Rode for years, Flatheads, Pans and Shovels. I miss it most days.

This is my 6th Harley along with a wide variety of 750 SOHC Honda's and 1 Goldwing. Started on a 58 Panhead ex-leo bike and went from there. Been ridin for over 35 years. Would like to get back to Sturgis one year, maybe when I retire. Till then I ride to keep sane!
The day I picked her up.
A little bling added at Street Vibrations
It's a little different now, more things added for protection and comfort, since I like to do long distance every chance I get.

Had 1980 Bagger with a sidecar for awhile in the 80's. Bought a 1988 bagger a couple of years ago. Then the Fatboy. I'm sure I'll get another one.
