Ok, here it is.
I aquired a new toy for Christmas this year. (bought myself a present)
Now I need a way to take it along with me on my adventures.
I've looked at the big hydraulic lifts, that mount to the frame and hike it up on the back of the coach, nice units, but I'm already almost, if not, overloaded, the coach, that is. So I'm looking for a trailering type solution. I've seen some neat little folding trailers, and such.
I've also toyed with the idea of modifying one side of my Waverunner trailer, as I also play on the water. I've thought about a rear wheel down type thing too, but I have reservations about that already. It's a Heavy bike, so I need something substantial. What have some of you done, and what are your experiences with it?
thanks,
Kerry

Congratulations! Have you considered an enclosed or open trailer? Enclosed is what I use for our GW trike. You should only need a single axel trailer, but you will want a drop down rear door. They are not that expensive. An open trailer will do if you don't mind your bike being exposed to the elements. Good luck with your decision.

HotMech,
I'm in the process of having a 94 Dodge Dakota (V6) fited with a base plate to tow my toy (01 Kawa 1500 Nomad) loaded in the bed. That way, I have my transportation, toy, and other stuff I can safely pack in the p/u. If you tow 4 down the only thing you need to have is a means of loading and unloading it.

I have an enclosed trailer that works great for the bike and garage stuff, we full time.
Only issue we have to drive 2 vehicles, MH with bike trailer and car. When I upgrade the auto, I will be looking at a truck. I will install a cruiser loader and then we will be able to ride together and drive only 1 vehicle.

To Hotmech,
I recently purchased a Diamond Back Motorcycle trailer to haul my 1200 Kawasaki Voyager behind a Montana 32 fifth wheel trailer...the Diamond Back is an Aluminum open construction using checker plate with a piston tilting bed.....the unit weighs in at 350 pds and is capable of hauling 1500pds. I will be hauling my bike to Arizona from Ontario in Oct. Price is around 1600.00. Look up Diamond Back Trailers on the Net

Thanks to all for the feedback.
I have some hefty space restrictions, so I think I need to stay with an open trailer.
I'd love to go enclosed, but then I need to find another storage space, at ?$ a month. I've been trying to narrow it down, for most of the year now. I'm leaning toward these little folding trailers. There's a couple on the market, kind of obscure, so far but I need to find something, very "hideable", as the "Neighborhood Nazi's" are quite active in my community, and my garage is full to say the least. the one car side has my big Yamaha, my small Yamaha, and my water Yamaha on the trailer, with the lawn mower thrown in for good measure, and the bar for my Toad, and full shelving on two walls. The poor Toad, has to sit in the driveway during the summer. I figure with one of the folding type trailers, I could just fold it up and hide it under the deck. I'd love to just have one of those way cool hydraulic lifts that mount to the frame and lift the bike up on the back, but my rig is just a bit too small for that one.
Thanks again, for all the feedback, I'll be looking here still, to see if someone posts my dream transport.
Kerry

I am not sure where you are or how far from Concord, NC you are, but you might give Golden Gate Trailers a call. Golden Gait Trailers: Trailer Dealer, RV Service, Used Trailers, Honda Generators They will custom make a trailer for you or modify an existing one. They may be able to set you up with a trailer that will haul the jetski & the bike. The owner is my neirghbor, he custom built a trailer for my kayaks & bicyles. Very reasonable, but could be the friend discount. Ask for Tim & tell him Dan Sees sent you.

We haul ours in the back of the pickup using a Cruiser ramp loader. It works quite well and is easily removable when you need to use the truck to haul dirt or gravel.

We have a Smart car in the nose of an enclosed trailer and a Goldwing GL1800 with a Hannigan TriCar conversion in the rear. I also carry tools etc. The combined total with the enclosed trailer is around 7500#s. I have a Trailer Toad that goes in the MH receiver and carries the enclosed trailer with no problem. You really do not know it is back there until you start or stop, of course the trailer has good brakes also.

Two summers ago we hauled our Harley Ultra Classic behind the motorhome in an open trailer I borrowed from a friend. The trip up to Glacier Park was fine, no rain, had a great time riding around the park. On the way home, it rained solid from Kalispell, Mt to Spokane, Wa. Got out at a rest stop once to check on things and didn't recognize my beautiful bike.
Long story short, I'll never haul my Harley in an open trailer behind the coach again. It took the better part of an entire Saturday to get that grime washed off the bike. When I can find a nice used enclosed trailer with a ramp door, we'll buy one. Dirt bikes is one thing, a $20,000 Harley is another.

There is another option available that I consider to be extremely versatile.
Fast Master Products in Katy, Texas builds a lot of different trailer with a lot of different options.
the one that has my interest is this one because it will support 1,200 lbs. They have single wheel versions also. Check 'em out.
The reason I like this one, is because it can be connected to anything that has a receiver hitch. You car, pickup, toad, whatever..... Most of the load is on the trailer's wheels.
The best part of this deal is the trailer can swivel independently of the hitch height. That makes it a breeze to pull through those drives with deep dips in them.
Check out their website. It has enough things to drool over to keep you busy for a few nights. At least through the holidays.
The ultimate motorcycle RV transportation system.
Oh, one other thing, make that two.
I have personally visited their factory location and talked to the owner. This says it all:
When calling Fast Master Products, Inc. you will speak with an individual who can answer your questions, instead of receiving a voice recorder for you to leave a message, where someone may call you back.

I have been trying to figure out how to upload a profile pic to include the attachment of our setup. We bought this RV lift five years ago in Watsonville, CA no probems whatsoever, had a custom cover made and tow our 1999 Ford Explorer behind. We either have a RoadKing, Panhead or Shovelhead on the back. The Explorer is an excellent tow vehicle with a factory installed neutral kit (which is not longer available) would like to buy a newer toad but can't seem to find a towable vehicle I like.

Just gave my towable 04 Explorer to my Grand Daughter and picked up a new 2010 limited. They don't sell the kit but it can be done. I did it for a $23 Ford part, a little labor and had Ford flash the Eprm. Works like a charm.
