Riding in the Ozarks, Arkansas
Wanted to share our favorite riding spot this past winter was in the Ozarks. There is not a straight road in the area, elevation runs up to about 2000 feet max and most roads are twisting and sweeping some switchbacks and hairpins so always take care. We saw so many bikers on the road every time we were out enjoying the beautiful scenery - creeks, lakes, forests. Many restaurants, lodging, bars, campgrounds cater to the bikers and you have to stop and visit the State Parks; all have some great scenic roads inside worth the small fee. The welcome center for Arkansas offers printed brochures of road trails to follow and the internet has many maps. The northwest quadrant of the state has so many roads to run you will have to go back because you just can't get to them all. Our campsite was at Lake Dardanelle State Park; all services available in a beautiful setting. Staying here for a week and then moving up to Eureka Springs area would be perfect.
