Against the best wishes of the manufacturer, I welded a 2 pieces of 5" channel from the frame to the hitch to supprt the load of the new motorcycle and a modified Versihaul carrier. The Springer and Dresser should be sold today and a deposit will be placed on a black 2010 Heritage softail. Our first major trip of the summer will begin in mid June and I hope to have everything in good working order by then.

tmar10, Please be aware of the Gross Axle Weight Rating Rear (GAWR-R) on the F53. I am not sure that it'll handle the weight you are putting on it. I don't believe that the rating on the 35e is anymore than 15,000 pounds. (22K GVW) Just be safe is all.
