Sports Coach 2005
I have a 2005 Sports Coach Cross County SE 38 1/2 foot. In the kitchen area and hallway by the bathroom the floor is ceramic tile, the tile has cracked in several places from the flexing of the RV. Replacing it is a problem as the walls in the RV are on top of the tile. On the outside the cargo doors are not aligned with the perimeter seal of the cargo area so when it rains the things in the cargo area can get wet. I have the 300 hp turbo charged 300 hp Cummins engine, the best I have done is 10 mpg, my brothers' RV with the Ford Triton engine also gets 10 mpg but he runs off and leaves me when we are in the mountains. The dash air-conditioner and dash heater do not put out enough air to heat or cool on cold or hot days. When traveling in the summer I run the generator so I can run the two air conditioners on the roof. In the winter I must wear an insulated suit to stay warm. The heater in the RV puts out hot air but the ducting which is run under the floor is too small so there is not enough heat to warm the RV in the winter. From the heater box, which is under the fridge, I installed two more round ducts and installed two round grills in the side of the cabinets and now I can heat the RV enough in the winter. Tires on a diesel RV are much more expensive than with a gasoline engine as they are taller. Diesel is more expensive per gallon. The drawers in my RV are wood but the cabinets are made of particle board and covered with what looks like wall paper which has a wood design. I have two slideouts, there are two 4" long rollers which the slideout should hit and roll on but the slideouts actually slide on the metal bracket that the roller is mounted in so the bottom of the slideout is wearing. I have to figure out how to install larger diameter rollers so the slideout will roll on the rollers. My lower cargo compartments are very small compared to many other motorhomes I have been around since purchasing this one. I am not unhappy with my purchase but would not buy a diesel again. This is my first RV so still learning what to look for in my next purchase. Repairs for a diesel RV are much more expensive than one with a gasoline engine. Best to you in your selection.
