2007 Coachmen

Hello people ,

I'm a newbie on here so please go easy on me.

Just got back from an RV show in up state N.Y. and placed a deposit on a 2007 Coachmen Elite 40QS with 26,000 miles on it that they are taking in on trade.

I scanned through the 22 pages in this forum and although I didn't find anything on this particular model it looked like there have been lot's of problems with Coachmen coaches, unless it's just my imagination.

So before I get to deep in this purchase I'd like to hear from some of you good people that may own this same model or one similar to it.

I know the basic components are good, the Cat., chassis, transmission, and so on but how the the rest of the coach stack up to comparable units out there ?

Thank you in advance for your input.

Joe

We plan on full timing with in a year or so, just the wife and I.

I have a 2007 Coachman Crosscountry which is the cheaper that the Elite, and does not have all the extras that the Elite has. I bought my coach new in 2007 and had very few problems. You are correct the foundation is Freightliner, I have a cummins engine, Allison transmission which is rock solid. Most of the other components are similar to other coaches. I have had my coach for approx. 8 years and I would by the same coach again.
