2008/09 Sportscoach Legend owners ?
It's been awhile since I asked the above question. Are there any "08 or 09" Legend owners in our membership?
I would like to receive info from you since I never received any documentation.

Its nice to see that there are a number of legend owners out there since they are fairly rare. What do the owners feel about getting a list of names together to help each other and see if we live fairly close to get together? I live in the Sacramento Cal area and have never seen another 2007-2009 legend.

Trimacon,
We are few but the best Coachmen had to offer and the best bang for the buck especially purchasing used!
I have called Coachmen on 10/2/15 and will let you know as soon as they respond.

Coachmen intellectual properties were not a part of the purchase when they were purchased by BH so I talked to a former employee of the old Coachmen who is in customer relations now.
He stated these extrapolated approximations:
2009: 4-10 legend 500tg were produced (new model for the year)
16 legend 40'
2008 24 legend 40'
2007 36 legend 40'
Due to the economy downturn, at the end of 2007, a lot of RV manufacturers started to have fewer sales thus financial problems and cut production each exceeding year. By 2009 Coachmen, Fleetwood, Monaco, Holiday Rambler, National RV, etc. were sold off or went out of business.

Since we are so few, I would like to get a list of owners so we could communicate about our experiences and knowledge about our rare beauties. Legend Band of Brothers?

interesting point now I realize that if ony 4-10 2009's were produced, I was seeing 4 for sale recently - the Erie, PA Coach I bought, one for sale in AL but owned by a PA owner, one for sale in Tx, and one in WY. So that's potentially 40% or 100% of those produced that year up for sale.

I saw your 500TG on RVT.com with only 6,500 miles. It looks like new and beautiful! When did you purchase and how much did you have to pay? Rare but exceptional.

We bought it 9/15 @ ~$130K. Thought it would go lower, but a cash buyer forced my hand to pay close to asking price. It was like new, and very powerful (can put on cruise control through VA mountain passes no sweat).
My fear, biggest risk seemed to be in the lack of use. Seller sold us a transferrable warranty on coach & tires, so that helps to reduce anxiety. We've put 1500 miles on it, dry camped six nights so far, learned some wants of needs of the coach. We've now been working on some maintenance & upgrades before resuming travel with it in November.

I would seriously consider installing a front TV as an upgrade. Don't know why they did not come with one. Did you get the outside ref/freezer and washer/dryer? I installed LED light strips on outside and under kitchen slide storage area and converted ceiling halogens to LED making quite a difference in the lumen output. I do most of my regular maintenance: engine oil/filter, 2 fuel filters, chassis lube, generator oil/filter, fuel filter air filter and cooling system cap. I have 13,000 miles on mine, at this time. On 4/2014, I flew to Fort Meyers Fla. to inspect and pickup mine with 5,400 miles on it. By the time I returned to Sacramento, CA I had 8,500 miles and it's been a dream ever since.
You have made a prudent choice by purchasing the Legend and will be asked many times to give an inside tour, as I have had. They are stunning and worth every penny of what we paid as a new/used beauty!

I bought a 2008 Sportscoach Legend this past Spring down in Florida. Drove it up to Maine with very minor issues. We really like it and will be bringing it back down to Florida in a few weeks.
My major issue with it right now, is that I forgot to close the cargo bay doors when I opened the LR slide and I damaged the door! I have an email into Coachman to see if a "Door" is available.....

Welcome Jerry,
If the damage was just the top lip of the door, any good rv body shop could repair and repaint. But if the door is toast then Coachmen would be your best bet. Unfortunately, they don't have many parts for our Legends at all.
The paint codes are available in your information pack and if you have Victory Lane exterior paint then I can help.
Let us know how you make out.
