2014 Georgetown 350XL awning power switch question

Just picked up new georgetown 350xl for daughter! So far--Great unit ( two days into ownership)

Found out that power awning rocker switch located near entrance steps ( too low in my opinion--small hands/grandkids can too easily get to it) will work with engine running while transmission is on park (slides will not work when engine running --good!).

I did not try switch when actually driving so maybe the awning switch is only deactivated when transmission is not in park?

Anyway--on the assumption that the awning could be deployed while driving down road--my question is'anybody have a way to deactivate that switch!'?

My grandkids (especially the 1 year old) will be in car seats --but there are times when they are not fully restrained. We need to be able to not worry that a kid can deploy awning. Frankly--It would be best to have that switch deactivated even when parked!

Any ideas would be appreciated.

have you tried the Forest River Forum under Georgetown, one of the Georgetown owners may have an answer, web site is : Forest River Forums - Forest River Owners Community Another option is pulling the fuse for the awning.
