2017 Forester 3011DS Leans to One Side

Hi- My Forester leans quite noticeably to the right when looking at it from the back. Wondering if anyone has had this problem and how they addressed it? First motor home and dealer said it was due to weight on one side when we picked it up new. Yep now know that was not the case. It is also not related to the Ride Rite air bags same lean with both sides inflated to 70#. Ford E450 chassis. Have heard it may be a strut or needs different spring or something? Willing to take it into Ford if need be but would love some experienced thoughts on this. Thank you!

It could be that just that side has all the weight on it though one would think the manufactor would balance it out. Im not familiar with that set up but whats on that side? Batterys, gen set, grey and black tanks? E450 normally have fuel tank centered behind rear axle.

Thanks for the reply. Fridge, batteries, shower and fresh tank. Leans even when no water on board and fridge is empty. Have seen others of the same model with no lean.

NOPE...no lean on our 3011DS. How is the load in the compartments (too much weight) or is maybe your axle spring weak, loose or damaged. Or the rear shock leaking and in need of replacement. A warranty may be still available to use to fix this for you. Give it a look

Thank you for your reply. Looking like this will likely end up being a Ford chassis warranty thing. Guessing the spring at this point.

Get weight on each corner, or at least side-to-side, and make sure nothing is overloaded. That will give a baseline to start with. Ford is going to ask you to do this anyway, then they will tell you it was perfect when it left the factory and it is the coach builders problem. And then you'll hear the same from FR.

Was it level when new? How much is it off? Measure from a fixed point on each side while on level ground. Are you sure the air bags are inflated to same pressure? How is the tire pressure?

There was a thread in the Ford forum a short time ago. I felt that the the underlying problem should be fixed, others said level it with the bags.

If Ford or FR refuse to fix you might be best off with a spring shop. but be prepared with $1300 or so.
