I wanted to call the factory and get answers to a few questions. They seem have no number listed. Called the local dealer and was told by the first person, we don't have the number. I asked for the sales manager and was told the factory prefers not to deal with the public. That bothers me ALOT! Anyone have any comment on this?

Bullheaded - Thanks for the numbers.
Johnny - Yes after having a Winnabago, Forrest River consumer support is quite a bit of a let down. Good news, my coach has not had any major items. And on the Forrest River site people have reported good luck when they did get to deal dirrect with the company. Sad news, I understand protecting your dealers but in IMHO, I think my closest Forrest River dealer knows less than I do about the product.

After I posted and prior to seeing Bullheaded's reply I continued sleuthing. I went to their website and opened a brochure. On the last page..tada...the mystery phone number. First call I was transferred to the east coast sales manager. Left a message, still waiting for a call back. Thought about it for a while, called again and asked for parts and/or service. The operator gave me a different number to call.. 574-206-7600 which turns out to be customer service. I left another message and with 15 minutes or so my call was returned. The gentleman was more than helpful. Provided me an emailed copy of the original "build sheet" showing what options were installed at the factory and checked for any recalls. None. He patiently answered a couple more questions and told me to call back anytime!

Isn't your dealer supposed to handle any issues that arise? When we researched before we bought our rockwood TT, we researched the dealerships as well. Our dealer has been awesome.

We owned a Forest River Rv once and I was confused at how difficult it was to get a contact number for Forest River. I was also bothered by this.

Try to call Home Depot in Georgia and they do not have any numbers other than customer service which is in India. I do not shop at Home Depot now unless it is an emergency.

The few times I wanted to speak to some one at Forest River I was able to with no problem. I even arranged for a tour of the Georgetown plant when they were shut down for the 4th of July vacation week. The gentleman, a Mr Nolan was most helpful. He would have given the tour if only my wife and I showed up, but we managed to get 18 people from our group to do the tour.

I am not sure about that. I just called the Macon, GA store at 478-477-0266, Warner Robins is 478-923-4594, Cordele, GA 229-273-4380. There are more but each of these answered the phone and transfered me to a real person in the department requested.

After researching and doing my homework, I purchased a FR Rockwood Roo. I had many questions the dealer could not answer. The dealer sold 8-10 brands of trailers, mobile homes, etc, The dealer is well respected and about 3 hours away. Local dealers could not match the price of the out-of-town dealership. The saleman gave me the FR rep's cell number. Boy, was the rep surprised to be talking directly to a customer. He was very nice and provided answers to many questions. But, he did want to know who gave out his cell phone number. I still have it and will call him, should the dealer prove unreliable. FR company does not make it easy to call them, but they do help when dealing one-on-one. Now, why don't they update their website with 2012 info? 2011 models are no longer produced and decors have changed throughout their line, but no updates are available. The product is worthy, but communication/current info is lacking.

I called the dealer from whom I purchased our DayDreamer. They gave me FR's number, left a message. Call returned the next day. Gentleman could not answer my question, but offered to contact the "build team". Call the next day from him...and...sure enuf we think we solved the problem.. My DayDreamer has two 55-amp converters.
The main one was never plugged into the 110-volt power source. Easy fix when I discovered what was going on and I shared it with FR. They were pleased with my find.)

I own a Heartland product, and the factory wants you to call them! On top of that they have a forum which they monitor. I was having a slide problem, and my "dealer" advised me that according to Heartland the problem was "normal". I took a video of the slide coming in, posted it on the forum in the Ask The Factory section at around 11:00 pm, by 10:00 am the next day I checked the forum, and the Brand Manager for my rig had answered stating the problem wasn't normal, and at 1:00pm that same day, I got a phone call from the factory to discuss it with me! Heartland is big on customer service, and likes to talk to it's customers.
