black soot

Just got a 2018 Leprechaun with a Chevy engine and noticed some black soot coming out of the tail pipe is that normal for a new RV?

Soot is usually a sign of a too rich mixture. A CEL (check engine light) should come on if a rich mixture is detected. If you don't want to handle it yourself, a garage should be able to find out what's going on. Continued driving with an overly rich gas mixture can damage your catalytic converter, so don't ignore it.
