Coachman Chappelle landing Jack's

Hello all, my brother in law just bought a new 2018 Coachman Chappelle 295x lite 5th wheel. The rear auto leveling Jack's are very low to the point where he can't even back up into the driveway. They scrape on the sidewalk and start bending. I would say they are about a foot above the ground. We checked and there isn't room for them to be raised. Is there a trick or something we aren't aware of or is that just how they are? It seems crazy to think the manufacturer would have them that low.
