Coachman/Forest River Differences

The Coachman line of products is owned by Forest River. Are there differences in the Coachman line from product line from products that are sold under the name of Forest River? Are there quality differences? Are they manufactured on the same assembly line? Are there quality differences? I'm interested in the Leprechaun Class C line.

Thanks

It is my understanding that Coachmen and Forest River are still built in separate factories and that FR purchased CM in late 2008. Each appear to have several different product lines with different levels of build and features.

Both the Leprechan and Freelander are similar products with the Freelander being more on an entry level, lower cost model. If you walk through both, there are some fairly obvious differences in structure and level of finish. i.e. The Leprechan has a full fiberglass front cap that wraps the side walls, where the Feelander still has the old stype joint covered by a molding. I have not compared FR to Coachmen directly.
We looked pretty hard at the Leprechaun several years ago, but Nan objected to the split level floor and we went with a used Itasca Spirit that had a similar floorplan that we liked better. We now have a Coachmen Mirada which is the upper level Class A gas coach, the Pursuit being their entry level coach.
Whichever class C you choose, I would look for two things: 1) It should be on the E-450 chassis, not an E-350. Class C's tend to be limited by the capacity of the rear axle, rather than the GVWR. The E450 has a much higher rear axle capacity. 2) It should have the front cap that laps the side walls because it is much less prone to leak.
