Coachman Leprechaun Radio Issue

I have the Class C 311FS and the radio gets spotty reception or static. The auto audio people tell me it is because the antenna is under the forward overhang. What are the suggestions for getting better reception?

You could mount a low profile antenna on the roof of the RV or mount an antenna on one of the mirrors. (I'd suggest the driver's side, less chance of a branch beating on it) Simply disconnect the present antenna and plug in the new one.

antenna booster

First make sure the antenna is plugged in good the radio. and has a good ground. use ohm meter to go from chassis to antenna ground. if all okay add a power booster like this one. https://www.crutchfield.com/p_12044U...Amplifier.html
How do you like your 311fs we are loving ours. 2017 was the first year for this floor plan. we got the recliners instead of the couch and really glad we did. Our radio reception has been ok. but we hook our phones up via bluetooth and listen to music from iheart radio and sirus xm. more

Radio Issue

I have decide to get an antenna to attach to the side of the Coach front overhang and run the wire inside down to the radio connection to bypass the fender antenna. The antenna will extend at least one foot above the roof.

We really like the Coach except for the bumpy ride over rough roads on I 81 and I 84. Took it to an alignment shop to increase the Caster and this mostly eliminated the white knuckle steering.
