Thumbs up 2005 354mbs

Just traded mine down for a Winnebago Gasser. Better floor plan mainly. No major problems with the Cross Country though except for a failed Starter in 2007. Keep up the maintenance and it will serve you well. I replaced the swivel chair with a euro style recliner from Costco. Installed a 37" flat screen after the old CRT failed (couldn't find a replacement). Just removed old TV, installed a swing-arm full motion mount to the reinforced side of the cabinet, New TV covered most of the opening. Used speaker grill fabric to fill in the 3 inces or so at the bottom. Used bungi cords to ensure the TV stayed in place and web strapping to secure it while traveling. Also, added sat dome and replaced some ceiling fixtures with LEDs. Bought a 1200 inverter for the odd times when we wanted to watch TV after quiet time in public campgrounds.

Your roof air conditioners are 110 Volt and the brakers are under the bed. You have a breaker for each air conditioner. Be sure your main brakers are not tripped. It is located under the foot of the bed facing the hall. I had to replace the start capacitor on both of my air conditioners several years ago.
To access the generator you have a tee handle under the left side of the dash in front of the driver seat. I have had problems with adjustment of the cable and have had to come up under the front to release the hood, with the hood up you can adjust the cable.
I hope this helps.

Interesting about the wood flooring. That's one of the first things my wife asked about when we picked up our MH. I'd love to see how it comes out!

If you were asking me about questions on the "newer" coaches, by all means, I'll answer your questions if I can.

Tom
I don't really have a problem with the tv being straight on and don't feel the need to have it swivel. It's the same place it was from the factory, just bigger. My 2004 is a 37' and I don't know what might have changed, inside or out. I have a door just behind the passenger front wheel that is screwed shut. There is just empty space behind it and I'm wondering if they added a bin in later years. I'd like the extra storage space if I can get it. I will buy a bin interior if one is available if not then I will make something to fill the space. I have a couple of bin door latches from a prior issue. Don't ask!!

I would be happy to send pics, I don't know how to post them, maybe e-mail or text. I just bought a new laptop with Windows 8 and I'm really struggling.

Looking at 2007 Cross Coutry 354MBS

I'm looking at purchasing a 2007 Coachmen Cross Country 354MBS with 32,000 miles. Does anyone have any items I need to inquire the dealer about before I purchase? I know it's not a luxury model, and I'm fine with that, but I really like the floor plan. Anyone with some current (last few years) dealings with repairs/parts from Forest River?

I've been very satisfied with ours. Normal maintenance schedule.

We had one last year. We finally traded for a 5th wheel because it had more room. We didn't have any problems with the rig. We did take the TV out and made a cabinet over the dash. We mounted a flat screen TV on the door of the cabinet.

Hi Terry...this is my first ever post on this forum so please excuse any errors I'm making in this posting. I have a 2004 Sports Coach DP354 and love it. We've had it now for 3+ years and it's been a great coach. We've wintered in it each of the past three years, and travel extensively to volunteer for Habitat for Humanity as "care-a-vanners".

Now that we've had the coach awhile now, I'm wanting to upgrade it. Your earlier posted comments about what all you've done with yours: swapping out the old TVs and how you mounted them, the battery addition, and swapping the liquid and vapor LP lines for the GenSet all sound great.

I know it's been awhile since you originally posted so I don't even know if my request for anything you could possibly share with me is appropriate or not. I'd love to see a picture of your changes.

I'm also wanting to replace the vinyl and carpet, but I'm still really happy with the furniture. I did have a fiberglass roof installed to replace my rubber roof and I love it.

Also, do you have any suggestions for where to find parts for replacing the windshield wiper arms and washer nozzles? Mine are still original and way past needing replaced.

Thanks for anything you care to share with me,
Bob
