Coachmen Sportscoach 385DS

Any information on this model would be appreciated. Mostly concerned with quality of build and the size of the beds(except the king of course).

I'm also looking at a 2012 Berkshire 390bh. I am concerned with quality of build and resale. Was told to be very careful as all "entry level" DP's are not built to the same quality level.

It would be best if you mentioned the year. They used that model number for at least 3 years.

I have that unit and am very satisfied with it. Quality is good, its not a top of the line unit, but who cares...bunk beds are the ticket with the tv's for the kids.

We have one of the early 2012 Sportscoach Cross Country 385 DS that were manufactured. We are very happy with the Freightliner/Cummins/Allison chassis/drive train. While we did have some warranty issues with the coach resulting from component failures (supplier issues) and manufacturing issues associated with factory designs, Coachmen Factory Service worked very hard to eliminate and repair them. During this period I learned of efforts within the factory to resolve personnel and design matters for future units. Our coach may be an economical model but has the basic design and components of most other diesel pushers and offers the same opportunities and enjoyment owners of higher priced units experience. Some of the finishes are not as upscale but operate the same. In 3 years, we have put over 30k miles on it, made two cross country trips and numerous trips with our grandchildren and thoroughly enjoyed the layout. For a small additional cost we were able to purchase and enjoy a diesel pusher with greater towing power and a more durable drive train and would recommend this unit.

I have the opportunity to buy one of these for 100k a 2013 with only 2400 miles! A good buy?

If it's in good condition, doesn't require any extensive work and you verified that the appropriate maintenance schedule was followed I would say yes.

I have a 2011 Berkshire and love it. We have owned it since April 2012 and we full time in it. It's been a good Moho with problems early in but has been excellent now. PM me and I can give you some things to look at.
