Dual air conditiong question

New to us 2002 Georgetown 325.

First trip 10 days ago we found an anomaly in the way the bedroom and living room air conditioners work relative to the legends on the dual switches down near the power distribution panel in the bedroom.

According to the switch legend, when on the 5.5KVA generator, it's supposed to be possible to run both a/c units. We found that, with the generator running and shore power unhooked, we could only run one or the other.

As we had foolishly chosen Steamboat Rock State Park, not far from Grand Coulee Dam in Eastern Washington, for our first trip, this presented a problem. Outside temp was still above 90F at bedtime. DW and I were in the bedroom, two Labradors in the living room. We kept the connecting door open.

Both rooms would have been a lot more comfortable initially if we'd been able to run both a/cs to cool them down before bedtime.

By about 02:30, it became a moot point as the temp had plummeted and we were adding blankets!

Can any of you long-term Georgetown owners enlighten us as to how you get both a/cs to run on generator power?

I take it you are talking about this switch:

It needs to be set to the rear as in the photo above for both A/C units to run.
One of its feeds come from the generator and the other feed is from the power panel in this position. The other position will only run the front A/C unit.
The feed from the generator will only run the front A/C unit and the feed from the power panel will run either A/C unit but only one at a time.

It is wired like this:
