Erie insurance: Like, dislike, problems?

Thinking about switching to Erie Insurance. stated amount on coach and very reasonable auto rates for rest of family fleet.

Erie has a good reputation around our area, (central Oho) but I don't know their history with motorhomes.

Comments on Erie? Any info welcome; Rates? Claim handling? General comments? Whatever you might know.

Thanks all,

Roll

Have had Erie since moving to PA 25 years ago. On my cars, 2claims, great claim service, and very satisfied!

No claims on the MH. :-)
But I have no doubts.

We have Erie on our boat, golf cart, 2 campers, car and suv. I have filed two camper-related claims - awning fabric replacement (totally my fault - I left it fully deployed over night and the rain came in a few hours earlier than the forecast) and an awning arm (again, my fault - wind whipped the awning up to the roof and one of the arms busted). There were no issues or hassles - I had my dealer do the work and sent the invoice to them. They reimbursed me minus my deductible.

I too am extremely happy with Erie insurance for my 2 cars and my previous class A and sticks & bricks. Thank fully never had to test their claims department LOL! However, when I purchased my 2011 Georgetown last year my agent switched me over to Progressive because they were a lot less expensive than Erie.

I have been with Erie since 1987. 2 claims on autos. Very happy. Superior service on claims.

I even got competitor quotes every 5 years. The only ones that were less were about 100 bucks lower by a lower rated company. I wont change for that.

Best wishes.

I too have been with Erie for years. My agent also switched me over to Progressive due to lower premiums.
I've never had a problem with Erie.

Thinking about switching DP to Erie. We have home and auto and agent claims to be able to save a lot compared to my single policy with Progressive.

Different parts of the country have different insurance ratings especially for accidents and theft. I would guess that is why some areas will have higher rates with Erie for RV's and some Erie is the best bet. Either way, I am satisfied with both Erie and Progressive.
