Everchill fridge door latch

So our new travel trailer has an Everchill fridge with freezer on top (not a side by side) it did not come with a latch. They say the magnets are strong enough to hold it but on rough roads it still pops open has anyone fabricated a latch for theirs to keep it closed.

How do you like your Ever Chill refrigerator? I am trying to decide whether to buy the 12v or 120 v ac model to replace the Dometic in my 3 week old Hideout Camper. I am leaning on the 12v as it will not require an inverter.
Does it work as good as your refrigerator at home? Thanks.

Yes it works great the only problem I foresee is it draws a lot of amps so would not be good for boondocking I am sure the 120v with an inverter is the same or even worse. I do love the fact that I can keep it running while driving down the road without having to use propane.

Thanks Mikeintx. I just bought my first travel trailer, a Keystone Hideout, with a 6cuft Dometic fridge and plan on buying the 12v Everchill as soon as I sell my Georgetown Motorhome. We went to the camper dealer to purchase a Shasta with the Everchill 12v model but the DW liked the Hideout better. I replaced the Dometic's in both of my motorhomes with Avanti 115 volt models, as I had on board generators. And I only travel from home to a campground with AC. David
