Forest River Forester questions

We recently purchased a 2015 Forester with 7000 miles. Love it and have questions since we are new to motorhomes. First, does anyone know if the Forester (model 2861DS) has airbags? If not, do you recommend adding them. We are still doing short, test trips to figure it all out and the ride is bumpy, to say the least. I've read info about airbags, sway bars, shocks are things to look at it, in addition to checking alignment. I'd appreciate any advice you can give on how to keep our bones and teeth from rattling so bad when on the road.

You should have RideRites air bags. The fill valve will likely be in a side compartment near or behind your rear wheels. I run mine at 70-80#. Be sure to air your tires at the posted pressure on drivers side door label

I have no idea of an answer to your question. But I'm new to Forest River also and was led to this address: Forest River Forums - Forest River Owners Community
I've received a lot of help there. Yes, I used this site for several years previous of owning this Forest River product. Good luck.

If its on the ford F450 good luck. Long story short my wife and I test drove many class c motorhomes before just settling on a travel trailer. The f450 was the worst riding motor home period! The chevy 4500 were a bit soft but smooth, The f350 was the best of both worlds being stable and fairly smooth. Just do some googling on the f450 rough ride.

Actually it's an E450 and while there are plenty of mods you can do to improve the ride, its still going to be a 6 ton brick going down the highwayMyself I have no problem with the ride or handling of my SunseekerFor us the MH was the only way to go

I have a 2018 3011DS. The rear axle as RiteAid air bags. Access is found the compartment just in front of the rear wheels. You should see an air fill valve on the inside of the compartment on the side. That is IF you have the air bags. Some models may not.
FYI there is a cell phone app called "Forest River Owner's Guide" you may find useful.
MY ride is just fine. No issues. No push from passing Big Rigs. No wander. Steers fine. Tows my Honda OK. We enjoy the ride. FYI it's actually tons LESS stressful than driving my Gas Class A that I drove for 10 years and 60000 miles.

lucky you if it came with air bags. my 2851 sle forester did not. I bought & installed myself hellwig sway bars front & rear, Sumo spring bump stop front & rear & a roadmaster steering stabilizer. I still want to get front end alignment checked.
