We are looking a purchasing a new 5th wheel. We like the Forest River Wildcat 32QBBS which has a front bunkhouse but also like the Jayco Eagle 345 with a back bunkhouse. Any recommendions or views are greatly appreciated.

We've enjoyed our Skyline Aljo BH and which they had some different floorplans but it's time to move on.

Many thanks!

We've owned 3 Jaycos (a Cardinal pop-up and 2 Designer 5th wheels). Each has given us years of good, reliable service. My experience is that Jayco offers a lot of value at their price point and has an excellent reputation of working to satisfy their customers. Check out their warranty coverage as well.

I can't speak to the Forest River products - I've never owned one.

I have had two different dealers I have gotten to know pretty well make the comment Jayco makes the best trailer in that price point. Neither dealer carried either line. Both also made the comment "don't put a motor in it", meaning do not buy Jayco's adventure into the motorhome world. Forest River has had their problems.

Huh, so far I have had excellent service from Forest River. I can not say the same for the dealer though. And personally when we were looking for a new fiver we looked at the Jayco and found it cheep looking compared to the Forest Rivers at the same price point.

I would go for the Jayco out of the choices given.

Just bought the Jayco Eagle 345BHS yesterday for our 20th Anniversary. Can't wait to pick it up, Thurs. or Fri. We also looked at the Wildcat originally but our gut kept telling us Jayco. Good luck with your choice.

Given the choice between front or rear bunks, I would take rear. As far as Jayco vs Forest River, I can't help you. I have looked a Jaycos in the past but did not find a floorplan that worked for me.

We currently have a 2006 Wildcat 31QBS. It has been a great trailer for the year ana half that we have had it. The only thing it has had problems with was the water valve in the toilet. And that is Thetford issue, not Forest River. Our previous trialer was a Rockwood, also by Forest River. That too was a great trailer. As for their customer service, it was excellent. They went above and beyond their responsibilty. They agreed to make repairs to the Filon fiberglass siding out of warrenty on our Rockwood, beacuase they felt that the stress cracks were not acceptable on a two and a half year old trailer. Now these two cracks were only about 2 inches long and in an area you expect to see stress, but they fixed them anyway. Check out this website for Wilcat owners, Wildcat Owners Forum. You can see for yourself what other Wildcat owners have had problems with and what issues they may of had with warrenty and service from Forest River.

Thanks for all the replies. This past week, we looked at a Keystone Larado, Thor Colorado and Sandpiper with back bunks. We keep coming back to the Wildcat.

We just bought a new Wildcat -- hope it was a good choice. It seemed the best value/layout/quality.

We liked the Laredo, but about 1000 pounds heavier for same type of layout.

For the earlier poster regarding Cardinal -- it's a Forest River product.
