fresh water tank not filling

I have a Prime Time Crusader with a 60 gal fresh water tank. When filling it, I get 8 to 10 gal in and water begins to flow back out the fill port. I cannot get more water into the tank. The gauge shows 1/3 full.
Any ideas why I can't fill the tank?
Thanks for any advice.

Can you see the actual tank, the gauge may be wrong and it is actually full. Or you may be try to fill it with too much water pressure. On a camper we had if I didn't fill it slowly, for some reason it would do that. I turned the pressure down and it took the water, a little slower to fill, but did fill completely.

That's what I had to use on my camper to get the tank to fill up.

Or a kink in the inlet hose. My FR Class C has the fresh tank under the bed platform. I'd take out the screws and have a look.

You can make a fill spout out of an old hose. Just cut off about 18” on the female end. Camco sells the one pictured.
