Georgetown XL 378TS vs. Bounder 36E

I went to an RV Show this weekend with DW and concentrated on 2014 Bounder 36E and, for $32K more, an incredible Itasca 38Q which is what we really want but don't want to pay for or afford. We stopped and saw a gorgeous Georgetown XL378TS. The 36E and 378TS are within a couple of thousand and both are new 2014. The Georgetown salesperson did a job on the Fleetwood as the Fleetwood person did on the Georgetown. At the end it scared us about both. We really like those floor plans but are having second, third and even fourth thoughts. So, we decided to go to both forums and hear from each of you to try and help us decide. All comments welcome and really appreciated.

Spend time reading the blogs in the various manufacturer sections. This will give you a good idea of both models and manufacturer issues. The Bounder is one of the most popular models on the road. Tiffin also is very popular. The Georgetown is also a great model. It really boils down to what you like personally. Get away from the salesmen. Do your own research and make the decision without asking a salesman. They all will tell you what you want to hear and badmouth their competition.

I purchased without speaking to a salesman, none. Did the research of over one year, then sent out bids online and then went and picked up the unit. Don't waste your time with the salesman, it will cost you more in the long-run. I've researched the two models you're interested in and like both. It will boil down to floor-plan, and what colors you like.

We like our Georgetown 378.

As well as checking out the RV's check out the dealer you will be buying from.

We are quite happy with our 378TS. We had shopped & shopped - it was the floorplan that we wanted and then saw this one with black furniture. That sealed it for me. The only thing that I do not like is that FR, in their infinite wisdom, decided to change out the facade on the fireplace. it used to have a shelf above the fireplace, below the tv. You could put in your own a/v equipment. They replaced it with fake rock. You will find the same tacky stuff in the bedroom. This will all be gone soon. Just dust catchers. And we want to put in our own a/v equipment under the tv in the living room. FR's answer for a dvd player?! -- it's part of the navi system.

Until we win the lotto & can design our own rv this is the closest we came to what we want. And with a couple of modifications our 378 will be even better.
