Gray water tank leak

Purchased a used camper surveyor 201rb from a dealer 1.5 yr ago. Come to find out when the gray is close to full water is seen leaking out by the discharge pipes. I suspect the dealer didnt check for that. Any suggestions how to deal with that

Are you certain its not overflowing?

If its leaking by the discharge conection?

Then it would leak when its maybe 10 to 25
Percent full. At the discharge fitting

2010 Mirada 32DS

I too purchased used. My unit had less than 2000 miles with two road trips made before I purchased. I noticed a similar leak when grey tank was close to full. I had a repair man take a look and the kitchen sink drain was the cause.. The screwed in pvc pipe fitting sheared off flush with the top of the grey tank. I had the repair guy insert a smaller diameter pipe in to the tank and reconnected the drains. This stopped all leaks as long as I did not over fill the tank... Note: I never travel with water in any tank... A few years later I have a leak again. Now it appears the grey tank has a bow in the center of the tank where I have about a 1/2 in gap in the center of the tank and now either the bathroom sink drain has the same issue as the original kitchen sink, or there is a crack in the tank itself. So now I can't see any way to fix this and wonder if there is not a defect in these tanks.

Had same problem.. get access to both sides of your tanks (mine were behind the outside TV on one side, the water service bay panel on the other. The outlet pipes had sheared at the tank level leaving only the threaded part of the fitting down in the tank.

You can take a hacksaw blade, CAREFULLY cut through the threads with the blade sticking down into the tank, cutting the face of the threads. Get ALMOST through and break the threads out with a small screwdriver. Put new fitting in and then use flexible connections to the tanks from there..

By edit: There are also "slosh pipes" that go from one side to the other to allow the tank to vent internally when the liquid moves around from side to side. Those too can break and in my case, they were not, but check anyway. Good way to check, put coach on side slant and fill the tank with fresh water.. you'll find the leaks easily!

Hello, I also have a Coachmen Mirada. I am having a gray water leak below the floor level from the kitchen sink, but only when draining the sink from full. No leaks with the drain open and faucet running. The tank is only 1/4 full. I suspect a crack in the drain pipe at or near the fitting to the tank. The drain pipe feels solid when I tried to wiggle it just above the floor near the furnace. I can't see the actual fitting. How did you diagnose your crack? How did you lower the tank? I appreciate any feedback, let me know if you would like my number to discuss on the phone. Thank you!
