New to Solar Panels

I own a 2015 Coachman Freelander. Next to the entry door is a Furrion Solar port. It has a marking the says "10A" I am assuming 10 amps. My dilemma is I found a Solar Panel that I got at a garage sale cheap, not knowing its capacity till I got home, it is rated at 15 amps. Can I use the panel or not? Or am I going to start blowing fuses? Or worse burning the wiring?

Check the wiring and ALL the connectors for their rating. Definitely not recommended to overload the circuit by 50% if it's truly rated at 10A.

FYI - good luck finding the proper connector to plug your panel into that Furrion receptacle! Apparently Furrion sells their own portable panels with a proprietary plug. IF you can find a plug that fits, please post the source here! I have a 2015 Prism with the same connector, but simply connect my system direct to the batteries. Also, I do not have a built-in charge controller on the coach, so unless you have a charge controller with your panel, don't connect it to the power system. I expect to remove the Furrion connection this season and change it over to a 12V "cigarette lighter" style plug. ST

A 100w solar panel puts out about 5a of current, so you could hook up 2x100w panels in parallel and still be in the 10a ballpark. That connector uses 10-12 awg wires so your good for at least 15a on the wire size alone (12gauge).
On the back of your solar panel is a big label that has all the particulars (ratings, watts, etc) on it. If you have the male Furrion mate to the power inlet on your rig, you can simply make it up into a pigtail to use with your portable solar panel. You will need to check to see if the Furrion setup includes a charge controller 'cause you will need one for the panel you have.

My Solar panel is a "Eco-worthy" solar panel. It has two 100 Watt panels with a controller rated as 12/24 volt and 15 amp output. What I have determined is that Furrion solar panel for my application is 95 watts rated at 10 amps, it seems as thought that's all they make for RVs.
As far as the Furrion plug they are available on Ebay. I found mine via YouTube, if you search youtube for "Furrion RV solar port" someone has put it all out there. I got mine in a few days from the vendor.

This is the speck sheet on one of the two panels on my solar unit. I must have an older system because I could not locate this model on Eco-worthy web site.
I have two 100 watt panels not two 50 watt panels.

I did a search a while back and found an article (sorry, can’t remember where) where a guy listed where to get that connector but he also warned that there is an inline 8 amp fuse in the wire going to the battery
