Question No AM Radio Stations

Radio in my 2016 Wildwood 263BHXL receives FM stations great (if the Winegard amplifier is on) but it does NOT receive any AM stations with the amplifier on or off. Has anyone had a similar problem and if so what did you do to correct it?

I'd pull the radio out of the dash and make sure the antenna was plugged in. If it didn't have a radio antenna, just the Winegard amplifier, I'd add an AM/FM antenna.

Yes, many AM stations in the greater Cincinnati area including 50,000 watt WLW.

The radio in question is in my TT not my TV. And yes it is connected to the roof mount Winegard antenna.

I had the same problem several times. I went up on the roof to check but before I did, I tuned a programed AM station in and turned the volume up pretty loud. As soon as I wiggled the antenna, the station came in loud and clear. I tightned the mounting screws and all was O K for one short trip. Went back up on roof and removed the antenna and found the coax going into the base connector was loose. Also the ground wire was rusted, with no way to fix it I had to search out a new one. I was able to order one from E-Trailer and am waiting on its delivery now. Mine is a metal one which is supposed to be more effective than the rubber ones. I had also found the plastic base was broken probably from hitting low hanging limbs.

Problem solved (kinda) with an indoor AM loop antenna connected to an A/B switch with the Wineguard roof antenna on the other A/B port. A little static on the AM side and only getting the stronger stations...but the stations I like to listen to ARE the ones I'm now getting.
