Radio antenna

I have a 2012 forest river surveyer 220 sport. my radio antenna is broken below the ball where you can adjust it . need to replace but don't want any leaks. what do you use for sealing? how is the wire connected to the antenna? thanks

I cannot speak for how exactly that radio antenna is, but typically its a straight run to the radio. You may have to disconnect the antenna at the radio and tie a string on the end, and once you remove the antenna from the roof, carefully pull it out. (then use the string to pull back the new antenna. If not, there will be a male/female connection in the roof that you will find once you remove the old one. Its important to remove ALL of the old sealant from the old antenna, then apply new self leveling lap sealer (typically a bead under screw holes) and then covering all of the tops of the screws/seams, like the antenna is now. Any RV store should have the lap sealer.

peel and pull... with a rubber type roof you could easily damage the roof membrane using any type of scrapper or tool. Try to get as much off as you can. The problem is water could snake its way in between the seams. If you cannot get it off, then seal completely over the old to ensure it stays water tight.
