Hello all!

I have a 2005 Surveyor sv210. It has a rubber roof and I noticed that some of the sealant around the vents is starting to crack. Its not real bad bit it is cracking. I have not been able to find any evidence of water leaks inside so I would like to fix this before it get worse.

I visited a local RV dealer and the parts department recommended hengs rubber roof coat to put over the cracked sealant instead of using more lap sealant. I was told you can't put new lap sealant over the old stuff.

I am trying to avoid a full scrape and reseal till this time next year....any input on the best solution would be very helpful.

-Matt

Dicor lap sealant can be put over other Dicor sealant. If it's ever had silicone sealant applied than not much if anything will stick after that.
I know our DSDP came with Dicor on it except around the skylight (plastic) and that's all I've ever used.

What does your owners manual say? Or call the manufacturer and ask. Dealers will try and sell you what they have and it's not necessarily what you need.

As far as I can tell.....nothing has ever been done to the roof. It looks like it only has the original sealant.

I guess I will try contacting Forest River.
