Towing our Cardinal 5th wheel up the ALCAN the inside panel of our three panel shower door shattered. Forest River will only sell the entire door set with frame. One other shop in the lower 48 has a similar set for $488.00 but wants $1,000.00 to ship it to Anchrage, AK.

I found a local glass shop that will special order one panel, cut and delivered for $269.00 but they want an additional $500.00 to install it.

I’ve read what I can find and it doesn’t look like rocket science, it doesn’t seem reasonable to pay that much money to install a sliding panel in the upper and lower channels and hang it, even if it required lifting the doors out of the frame. Has anyone done this that can give me some direction to do it myself? I prefer not going the curtain route.

Personally I would just hang a Shower Curtain until I got home!
I have seen Complete showers for sale by people who have removed them for about $100 Canadian , on various market place adverts!

Thanks Rob, we're home, looking at repairs now.

I found a glass company here in Alaska that will order a panel for $269. I removed the doors from my shower already and see it will be a simple fix, except the doors have a screw through the top rail to help hold them in place, from sliding down out of the channel. I know you can't drill tempered glass, so now wondering what sealer/silicone or other material I can use to secure it in the upper channel, the bottom of the doors do not slid on the bottom, they are suspended about half an inch up.

I would think that the Glass people would have an adhesive that they use to cement the Glass and metal frame together!
It’s more than likely similar to RTV Sealant!

Hi Rob, I'm sure they do, I have one more quote coming Monday, when I decide who I'll buy the glass from I'll pick their brain. Somehow I don't feel the company quoting $500 to install will offer much advice. I removed the entire set in less than 5 minutes.

I've installed quite a few windshields in restoration projects over the years, they use some impressive adhesive!
