Would you buy a Berkshire again?

Hi,
We have looked at the new 34QS Berkshire and we really like it. We also like the Berkshire XL 40 QL. I know these 2 RVs are kind of apples to oranges but mainly we want to know how you like your Berkshire so far? Any problems with it? Given the chance would you buy another Berkshire? How do you like the Forest River experience over all?
Thank you in advance

Only had mine since July. 2014 390 Fl. We have just 8000 mile on it. It has the 360HP motor. We get 9.5 MPG

Really happy with it so far. The fit & finish is great quality. It came with cook top stove & convection microwave. We wanted oven so we took out The cooktop & a drawer & slid in another cooktop with oven. Great addition for us.

We just spent 50 days in it. Have had zero issues with it. Quite happy.

Russell.

We have had ours for two years and would purchase another one. We have received great customer service from Forest River when needed.

I would agree with Earl. We have had ours for almost five years and it has been a good unit. Any issues were resolved by either Forest River or the dealer. The main reason I would change is that Berkshire doesn't make what we want to upgrade to.

Thanks for the imput. I just saw a You Tube video today of the 34 QS and it showed it with an L shaped couch. That must be a new option for 2015.

I can't really comment since we picked up our 2015 400QL this past October and have since only put 100 miles on it. But we do love the layout and get in it every weekend to pretend camp. Ours does have the L-Shaped couch. The living room area is one of the main reasons we purchased ours.

I'm hoping to have the same good experiences as the others here are reporting.

Good Luck

FYI: We talked to a FR rep and he said the 2016 34QS will have upgraded cabinets. Will be the same cabinets already offered in the 38A.

I had a 2014 Berkshire 400BH. I recently traded it for a larger Entegra, but overall I really thought the Berkshire was a great rig. I had very few problems with it, and the few that I did have, I received excellent customer service. In that size range and price point, I think the Berkshire is a great buy.

We have looked online at the 2016 38A and 38RB that are available and it looks like Forest River must be dropping the 38RB floorplan. In the entire country there is only 1 38RB available and that is in Westminister, CA.
It also looks like MHSRV in Texas has some great prices on new Berkshire 38A.
Anyone with a 38A want to chime in on what you do or don't like about your 38A?

MHSRV typically orders a lot more of the bunkhouse models versus the rear bath models. We found that true when we were looking at the 2014 models. What I was doing back then is go to the RV direct.com website and put in the model you want to custom order. If it was being discontinued the website would not let me configure it.
I also found there were only a couple of 390RB 2014 models in the entire country when I wanted to order. Got a great deal on one of the last ones in Indiana.
We found out from the rally next week that Forest River is coming out with some newer models. I suspect the newer models will cost more.

Thank you for the info on the website, I will look into it. As far as the newer floorplans coming out yes, it is a double edged sword: If you don't wait on the new floorplans you may regret the early purchase, but if you DO wait for the new floorplans you may regret the extra cost. I guess the best rule of thumb for us is after you purchase a new MH don't go to RV shows because there will always be something better out there with fancier gadgets and sleeker finishes. (But it is still fun to look!).
Thanks again for the info

We just picked up our 2016 38A 2 weeks ago. We really like the floor because it will sleep 8 if we need it. The bunk closet is great for storage when not in use for sleeping. We went form a 2013 excursion 35b to this rig and are very happy we did. The ride is 10x better. Now we just have to add solar and we are set.

Hi Chris and Carol,
Congrats on the new coach! I am glad you are happy with it! Let me know what you find out about adding the solar panels.
