I have a pyrometer on my F250 and have been surprised at how hot the EGT gets going up some hills in my area. I also have a Turbo Temp Monitor that will not allow the engine to shut down until the EGT drops below 300F. When I tow something heavy up a hill sometimes it will run for up to 5 minutes before it cools down enough to shut down.
If it's at a reasonable cost and I can install it myself I'm ready to order.
Question: Do you recommend pre or post turbo for the probe? I've installed both and my feeling is that pre turbo is more accurate.
